Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the business that operates Worklane (“Worklane”, “we”, “us”). By signing in to or using Worklane you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you use Worklane for an agency or company, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and “you” means that agency or company too.
The service
Worklane is software for recruiting agencies. It reads job requirements, helps find and score candidates, contacts candidates who agree to it, runs first-round screening calls, prepares submissions to clients, schedules interviews and sends follow-ups. Some features rely on outside services such as WhatsApp, a voice calling provider, Gmail and Google Calendar, which you connect yourself.
Accounts and sign-in
- You sign in with a one-time link sent to your work email. Keep access to that inbox secure.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, including actions by people you add to it.
- Give us accurate details and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Worklane.
Your data and your duties
You own your data. Requirements, candidate records, CVs, messages, recordings and client details you put into Worklane belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide Worklane to you, as described in the privacy policy.
For candidate and client data, you decide why and how it is used. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you are the Data Fiduciary and Worklane is your Data Processor. That means you are responsible for:
- having a lawful reason, and where needed consent, to hold and use each person's data;
- telling candidates and clients how their data is used, and handling their requests and complaints;
- keeping records accurate and deleting what you no longer need.
Messaging and calls
- Contact only people who have agreed to hear from you, on each channel you use.
- Follow the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, use only approved templates for first contact, and honour STOP straight away.
- Follow telecom rules for calls and messages in India, including TRAI registration handled through your provider.
- Do not send spam, misleading messages or anything a person has asked you not to send.
Worklane helps by recording consent, keeping quiet hours and stopping automation when someone opts out, but you remain responsible for the messages and calls made from your account.
Job portals and the Resdex agent
Your use of job portals such as Naukri Resdex is governed by your agreement with that portal, not by us. Some portals restrict automated access. Turning on Worklane’s Resdex agent is your decision, and you accept the risk that the portal may limit or suspend your account. Worklane keeps the agent conservative (your own login, caps you set, no credits without approval and no attempt to bypass security checks), and you can switch it off at any time or search manually instead.
We never ask for, store or share your job portal password.
AI features
- AI helps read documents, score candidates, draft messages and run screening calls. Its output can be incomplete or wrong.
- Check AI output before you rely on it. Hiring decisions are yours, and a person approves anything that costs money or reaches a client.
- Screening calls say at the start that they are an AI assistant, and ask before recording.
- Do not use Worklane to make decisions that unlawfully discriminate, including on caste, religion, gender, disability, age or marital status.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law, or anyone's rights, through Worklane;
- upload data you have no right to use, or malicious code;
- try to access other accounts, test or break our security without written permission, or overload the service;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer Worklane, or use it to build a competing product;
- use Worklane to collect data from websites or portals in breach of their terms.
Fees and third-party charges
Any fees for Worklane are shown to you or agreed in writing before you are charged, and are exclusive of GST and other taxes. Outside services charge you directly for their own use, for example job portal credits, WhatsApp conversation charges and per-minute calling costs. Worklane does not control those prices.
Ownership
We own Worklane, its software and its design. These terms give you the right to use it while your account is open; they do not transfer ownership. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Worklane without any obligation to you.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Worklane available and secure, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
Suspension and closing an account
- You can stop using Worklane and ask us to close your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or is required to be closed by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
- After an account closes, you have 30 days to export your data. After that we delete it, as described in the privacy policy, except what the law requires us to keep.
Disclaimers and liability
Worklane is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee hiring outcomes, the accuracy of AI output or the behaviour of outside services and job portals. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost placements or loss of data that could have been exported, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for Worklane in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
You agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from claims brought by others because of the data you put into Worklane, the messages and calls made from your account, your use of job portals, or your breach of these terms or the law.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to settle any dispute informally; write to the contact details below. If that does not work, the competent courts in India will have exclusive jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, email account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use Worklane after that means you accept the updated terms.
